Bremen

Location

Bremen, Germany

RORO 2010 moves to Bremen, Germany to benefit from the support and expertise of the Bremenports and Seaports of Niedersachsen.

A reputation as a place where innovations are made, the flourishing ports of Bremen, Bremerhaven and the eight seaports of Niedersachsen form the largest cargo hub between the Elbe and the Ems. In 2010 Bremerhaven will open its brand new Kaiser Lock Gate, further cementing its aim to be Europe's largest import/export vehicle port. The ports of Cuxhaven and Emden in Niedersachsen are further highly productive RoRo-ports in North-West Germany.

This thriving group of ports are the ideal backdrop to RORO 2010. They were visited by nearly 20,000 merchant vessels in 2008, and what's more Bremerhaven alone is capable of handling two million vehicles each year, Cuxhaven and Emden about 1.5 million cars per year.

The City of Bremen

Bremen is a city that has many different and unique characteristics, it puts itself on the map as the pulsating, multifaceted heart of North West Germany. A popular city, rich in heritage, science and high technology.

The 1,200 year old Hanseatic city has a unique quality that ensures a metropolitan city experience like no other – from rejuvenated Schlachte Promenade on the River Weser and the full-sized Columbus Space Module of the International Space Station to world beating attractions like the Universum Science Center Bremen.
