Barge Company Amsterdam (Ter Haak Group) opens new office in Strasbourg

PRESS RELEASE

Barge Company Amsterdam opens office in Strasbourg

Amsterdam, 30 March 2010 - Inland operator Barge Company Amsterdam (BCA), part of the Ter Haak Group, has opened an office at terminal Sud in the French city of Strasbourg. This new extension of the BCA network will operate under the company name Barge Company d’Alsace.

BCA has daily services from Amsterdam to and from Rotterdam and Antwerp. Three times a week the company also deploys inland vessels to transport containers between Strasbourg and the seaports in the Antwerp-Rotterdam-Amsterdam (ARA) region (the Strasbourg Express).

The current home base of BCA in Amsterdam is too far away for many (potential) clients. With its new office in Strasbourg, BCA intends to expand its clientele and its business. Moreover, it will be easier to coordinate cargo in situ. Barge Company d’Alsace will be responsible for the operational transactions and follow-up activities such as documentation and water and road transport on behalf of its clients.
