RORO strengthens its leading position with new appointment

Informa Exhibitions, organisers of RORO, has announced further investment in their maritime logistics portfolio with the appointment of Sophie Ahmed as the event director for the portfolio.

sophieSophie, having worked within various Informa Businesses, returns to Informa Exhibitions to develop the portfolio which includes Intermodal Europe and RORO.

Peter Hall, managing director of Informa Exhibitions: “With over fifteen years experience in running successful events in a number of sectors, Sophie brings not only solid experience but also great ideas for growing these events. She’s also got a strong understanding of the transport sector so has a lot to bring to these well-established events.”

Sophie will also be responsible for RORO and has big plans for this 30 year old event. “RORO has a great history as a meeting place, a strategic conference and as an exhibition where the industry does business. For the 2012 event we have a number of features which will help both visitor and exhibitors get even more from the event. I’m looking forward to meeting all the key players in the next couple of weeks and then we will confirm some major new features and visitor attractions at the Gothenburg event. With Marpol and the changes in the dynamics of the automotive industry, RORO 2012 will help carriers and shippers make key strategic decisions. ”
